      @Adriano:
Transcoding still works on Windows Phone 8 and I will keep it supported as only streaming solution on Windows Phone. On Windows RT and Windows 8 I’m going to add internal playback (for H264) and transcoding like in the Windows Phone Version. I will keep the possibility for playback in external programs like VLC, too.

      @Adriano:
Can you start the VLC from your dreambox’s web interface? If not, have you set VLC as default player for M3U files.

    Hi Steve,

interessanter Blogbeitrag.

      Steve

Yeah. It is linked to .m3u. If i open in internet explorer my dreambox website i can click on stream on a channel and it downloads .m3u file. Than i click open and vlc shows tv (stream).

If i click play in your app your app minimizes and iam on start screen. Nothing happens than. Do i have to have vlc on start screen to work?

Hi there, the app doesn’t seem to be working on my surface tablet. When I tap on it, the splash screen comes up and stays for about 10 seconds then crashes. I have tried uninstalling it, restarting the tablet, and reinstalling it, but the same thing happens.

    Am I doing anything wrong?

    Thanks.

      Hi,

I get multiple reports on the issue. At the moment I’m not able to reproduce the crashes on my PC. I’m planing to add advanced error reporting in the next release. So will be able to fix such bugs.

      Regards
      Steve

    Hi.

Many thanks for Video Player for VLC WP8. I’m using it to stream live TV from VLC which is streaming it from DVBViewer. I understood that you are not making MCU files working in Video Player for VLC. It would help me to change channels in my use.

Another easy way to choose channel is from the history. The problem is that you can only see around 40 characters of address and the important information from end of the row is not shown (E.G: /0.ts). You can only choose the right channel by writing the text (http://myaddress.dyndns.org:port/upnp/channelstream/0.ts) or choosing from history if you remember which channel you watched last time (they all show as http://myaddress.dyndns.org:port/upnp/chan). Would it be possible in future versions to increase the number of characters the History is showing to see the whole address. Then it would be easy to choose the wanted channel.

Thanks again for the great application.

      Hello,
I will consider your recommendations for the next release.
What do you mean with MCU files? I know M3U-playlists. Support for M3U playlists is on my todo list, too.
      Regards

Yes, I do mean MCU playlists. They would open a lot more possibilities. Just wipe left or right to get to previous or next track :-). About my recommendation about history files, the history display is static, so I have selected the addresses of my channels in reversed order and on the top now is the first channel I want then second etc. If I only remember the order of the channels they are always visible on the same position. It is working just fine for me now as long as I don’t add any addresses. Thanks.

      Hello,

the recommended streaming method is VLC transcoding. A tutorial for an other app can be found here

    Hi,

Very nice app but it misses some important features.
    Is it possible to add:
    – remote controle for the enigma based box such as zap channels, menu etc
    – Option to stop a started playback of your recordings

Also change the charme commando, swipe up or down results in the Same menu.

I hope this project continues, i do like it

I am working on bringing new features to the app. Your suggestions are part of them. At the moment I cannot give any information on a release date.

    New Feature 1
To open Streams on internal app installed on windows phone 8.1 such as VLC, which granted is not available yet. but the feature can be added now in Windows Phone 8.1

    New Features 2 Downloads
Be able to transfer a recording from your STB to your phone at a click of button to watch later offline, Ideally to download direct to SD card.

    New Features 3 Multiple Profiles
Set up Different Profiles for different Settings,
Profile 1 (Internal WIFI profile) would have internal IP of reciever and highest quality.
Profile 2 External Wireless would be external ip but would have less quality but better quality then 3g
Profile 3 3G Connection would be worst quality using transcoding settings on STB.

New Features 3 Also the fonts are 2 large ideally you need to see at 6 channels in a bouquet. Also when 1st opening the app its says DReam Web Tv in massive writing, this is not needed at all, we know what the app it needs removing to have more space for things you actually need such as Bouquets and channels.

    New Features 4 Timers
To be able to set recordings from EPG

New Features 5 To have multiple tuner support 4 tuners.

New Features 6 To Remove the background with All the screens, maybe just have a black background.

Please treat the above as constructive feedback I think what you have done with the app is excellent.
